Destined For Opportunities
God destined Abraham to receive his inheritance. We can say, when given an opportunity, Abraham could have either taken it or discarded it. Abraham left Ur of the Chaldeans, stopped at Haran and remained there till his father died. God spoke to him again, and he left for the land of Canaan. Somehow Abraham went in the right direction.
Destined to be his inheritance was the land of Canaan. Leaving his birthplace was Abraham’s sacrifice, but he inherited the land of Canaan for himself, his children, and grandchildren. He inherited the land for God; for God’s purpose to be fulfilled. In the land of Canaan was where Jesus was born and died. Abraham inherited the blessing of salvation after Jesus died, rose again, and ascended into heaven. Jesus came back to earth again and went into Abraham’s bosom to reveal Himself as the Messiah. Abraham inherited what we inherit from the Heavenly Father; we all become the sons of God. Abraham also inherited heaven to be with Jesus right now.
But his inheritance was not just for himself; it was for his descendants.
God destined you for opportunities, and those opportunities will be a blessing to you and your children, and your children’s children.
In the land of Canaan, Abraham was blessed spiritually; he knew God and the Lord appeared before him. He was blessed materially and financially, and blessed physically. After Isaac, he had many other children. He was also physically strong and not sickly. After Jesus died on the cross, Abraham inherited his salvation and became a child of God, and dwells in the presence of the Lord forever.
We are destined for every opportunity to inherit all the blessings of God. The Lord Jesus destined us to be blessed spiritually, financially, materially, and physically.
When God destined every individual for an opportunity, and we take it, we will inherit what God has planned and purposed for us. And our children will be blessed by our inheritance from the Heavenly Father.
God destined all His children to inherit opportunities, but many never did. Let us study what Abraham did and how he remained faithful to inherit the promises of God.
