The Quality and Quantity of Life
Jesus said: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
We can readily see the contrast between Jesus and the devil’s nature.
Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly. The word “abundant” means, “beyond, extraordinary, more than enough, beyond the norm.”
It is a life that is superabundant (in quantity) and superior (in quality).
God’s Word promised us the quality and quantity of life. We can expect the Word to be performed in our lives. Just take heed to what His Word says.
Forget not His teaching, but let our hearts keep His commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will be added to you.
Length of days refers to a prolonged life. We can live life till we are satisfied and as long as we live, we will be a blessing to others.
Years of life signifies a long time, full of life and it is a life worth living. It is marked by true happiness and enjoyment, free from distracting cares, sickness, and other drawbacks.
We can enjoy peace which is welfare, health, prosperity and well-being. It is the experience of positive blessing and freedom from negative harm and catastrophe.
Renew your mind with God’s Word. If God has said it, we can expect it. We can expect to live the quality and quantity of life.
