YOU ARE HEALED WHEN HANDS ARE LAID ON YOU, IS THE REASON YOU WILL RECOVER Acts 10:38 (NKJV) 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.God anointed Jesus to go about healing all who were sick. However, this scripture reveals that the sick are under the oppression of the devil. Now we know two things about a sick person:The sick are under the devil's oppression. That does not mean that there is a devil on every sick person. And sickness is manifested in the physical body. To completely recover from sickness, we must rebuke the devil's oppression, and for the sick to recover physically. There are several ways to minister to the sick, enabling them to recover. The fundamental way is to lay hands on them. Mark 16:17, 18 (NKJV)17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name …18 … they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."As a pastor, I believe what Jesus said. When I lay hands on the sick, I believe they will recover. Most importantly, the sick person must also believe what Jesus said. They must believe they will recover when the pastor's hand is laid on them. Why will the sick recover when the pastor lays hands on them? When the pastor's hand is laid on the sick in the Name of Jesus, the devil's oppression must go, and the sick will be healed. Therefore, he is in the process of recovery. If the sick is not healed, he will not recover. When you lay hands on the sick in the Name of Jesus, the devil's oppression has to leave, and the sick are healed, and the sick will recover. The sick person recovers because he is healed. For this reason, Jesus said in His Name, lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. Every sick believer must believe that they are healed when the pastor lays hands on them, because the oppression of the devil has left. And their physical body will recover, as Jesus said. There are two ingredients needed for the healing of the sick:- The healing power of God- FaithThe pastor and the sick must have faith. And believe what Jesus said in Mark 16:17-18. The pastor must believe in Jesus' Name, that healing power will be released. Likewise, the sick must believe they receive the healing power when the pastor's hand is laid on them. Both must believe the sick is healed, and shall recover. Then, the sick give thanks and praise to God for their healing, and healing will be manifested physically.Rev. WAYS TO RECEIVE OUR HEALING (PART 7)Receiving healing power from the gifts of the Holy Spirit in manifestation is another way to receive your miracle. RECEIVE FROM THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRITOne of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is the gifts of healing. This gift is only available as the Holy Spirit manifests it. If it is not in manifestation, then this gift will not be available, and nobody else has it. The gifts of the Spirit are manifested as the Holy Spirit wills. Nobody will have it, nor can anyone make Him manifest them. It is a gift of grace.1 Corinthians 12:7-9,11 (NKJV)7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given…, 9… gifts of healings by the same Spirit, …11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. The Holy Spirit chooses whom to distribute the gifts through, as He wills. When the gifts of healing are in manifestation:1. It is very specific for a particular sickness2. When the Holy Spirit manifests these gifts through the pastor, he will reveal the kind of disease God wants to healHow do you receive this gift of healing?1. As the Holy Ghost directs, the pastor may say, “Receive your healing now.” Then, the person with this specific sickness should say, “I receive it now; I believe I am healed. Thank you, Father, in the Mighty Name of Jesus.” From then on, he should continue to thank God for his healing.2. If the pastor calls for the people with this specific sickness, they should respond immediately by coming forward to the prayer line for hands to be laid on them. For example, if the gifts of healing is for a certain cancer, only people with this kind of cancer should come forward. People with other forms of sicknesses should refrain from joining the line.3. The usher captain could help by confirming with those who have come forward whether they indeed have this condition. For those who do not, the usher captain should separate them from the rest and have them wait on the side, allowing only those with the condition to come forward. 4. We must respond to the manifestation of the Holy Spirit promptly. Or else, once the manifestation stops, the manifestation of the gifts of healing also ceases. 5. Usually, with the gifts of healing in manifestation, the anointing will be much stronger, and the results will be more instant. The gifts of healing are released either through the spoken Word or by the laying on of hands. The sick must believe they receive their healing there and then and believe they are healed regardless of how they feel. 6. The gifts of healing may come with instruction. For example, the Holy Spirit could instruct someone in a wheelchair to get up and then run up and down the aisle. The sick must respond by acting on the instructions. Whether they feel like it, or whether they are able to or not, do as the Holy Spirit instructs. The power of healing will enable the sick and they will receive their healing. When the Holy Spirit instructs to do something, it is more often the case that the healing will be instant.Luke 6:6,8,10 (NET)6 On another Sabbath, Jesus entered the synagogue and was teaching. Now a man was there whose right hand was withered….8 But he… said to the man who had the withered hand, “Get up and stand here.” So he rose and stood there….10 …, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” The man did so, and his hand was restored. The gifts of the Holy Spirit completely restored the man with the withered hand. His hand was withered because of the diseased condition. The gifts of healing healed him of the diseased condition. However, his withered hand needed to be stretched forth to be normal, as the other hand. It takes the working of miracles, a gift of the Holy Spirit in manifestation, to stretch forth his hand. The working of miracles is a supernatural intervention of the Holy Spirit in the course of nature; naturally, his hand was withered. It must be a supernatural intervention against nature, and it requires the power of the Holy Spirit released through the gift of the working of miracles. Jesus did not lay hands on him. Jesus only spoke the words that required two actions from that man. First, he needed to stand up and then stretch out his withered hand. Can a withered hand move? No. Can he stretch out his withered hand without the gift of the Holy Spirit? No, he could not.Nevertheless, he had to stretch out his hand when Jesus spoke by the Holy Ghost. He had to do what he could not do. Jesus did not take his hand to stretch it forth. That man had to do it by himself.Rev. WAYS TO RECEIVE OUR HEALING (PART 6)Another way to receive the healing anointing for ourselves and our family members is by receiving from the spoken Word. RECEIVE FROM THE SPOKEN WORDJesus came to Capernaum at the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee. It was a major trade and economic centre. When the centurion heard that Jesus had arrived, he sent two Jewish elders to invite Jesus to his home. His servant was paralysed, dreadfully tormented, and dying, so he wanted Jesus to come and heal him. Luke 7:6-7,9 (NET)6 So Jesus went with them. When He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to say to him, "Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. 7 That is why I did not presume to come to you. Instead, say the word, and my servant must be healed.9 When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, "I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!"Notice what Jesus said about the centurion - he had great faith. Let us read another version of the same.Matthew 8:13 (NKJV) Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you." And his servant was healed that same hour.Jesus said the centurion believed. Faith and believing are two different things. Faith comes from hearing the spoken Word, and it goes into your spirit. Then, our mind needs to make a decision with our will to believe in our soul. Receiving a miracle from the Heavenly Father involves not only our spirit and our mind but also the will in our soul. What did the centurion have faith for, and what did he believe? Firstly, he had faith that Jesus healed. Secondly, the centurion believed his servant would be healed when Jesus spoke the Word. Finally, the centurion must have heard that Jesus went around healing, and it was God's will to heal. So, he had faith that Jesus had the healing power to heal, and many received their healing. The centurion believed there was power in Jesus' Word. He also understood there was authority in the Word of Jesus, and sickness must submit to the power of His Word.Psalm 107:20 (NKJV) He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.Jesus is the Word that God the Father sent. On the cross, by His stripes, we were healed, thus fulfilling the Scripture in Psalm 107:20.The centurion requested that Jesus only send the Word, and his servant would be healed. Jesus, therefore, sent a Word specifically for the centurion, and his servant received his healing that very hour, fulfilling the Scripture mentioned. Jesus said, "as you have believed, so let it be done for you." Jesus told this to the centurion, not his servant. The centurion had faith, and he could believe; thus, his servant received a miracle and was delivered from physical destruction. The people you associate with and the kind of company you keep are important. Similarly, the type of church we belong to. The servant (slave) worked for the centurion, who had faith and was someone who believed in Jesus. This is the highest form of faith and believing at the highest level. Jesus said He had never found such "great faith" among Israel. Jesus did not even pray for the centurion's servant. Jesus only said, "as you have believed, so let it be done for you." In a service, when the Word is spoken for our healing, we receive by believing because we already have faith that Jesus heals. Say, "I receive the Word spoken, and I believe I am healed." Then, thank God for your healing the moment you receive the spoken Word. The spiritual principle of faith and believing it shall be done for us also applies to our children and family members. It is another principle of spiritual authority. Your children in your family are under your spiritual authority. The church members are under the senior pastor's spiritual authority. Hence, what the pastor teaches is what his congregation has faith in and believes. Therefore, it shall be done for the pastor, and those under his spiritual authority will be greatly blessed. Rev. WAYS TO RECEIVE OUR HEALING (PART 5)Sometimes, a special manifestation of the healing anointing comes upon a preacher. We see two examples in the Bible. Once, it was on Jesus. Another time, it was on Paul.RECEIVE FROM THE SPECIAL HEALING ANOINTING IN MANIFESTATIONMark 5:25–28 (NET)25 Now a woman was there who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years. 26 She had endured a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all that she had. Yet instead of getting better, she grew worse.27 When she heard about Jesus,…28 for she kept saying, "If only I touch his clothes, I will be healed."27 …she came up behind Him in the crowd and touched His cloak …Steps the woman took to receive her healing:1. The woman heard of Jesus2. She had faith in her spirit3. Her mind made a decision with her will to believe. She acted on her faith by believing in and releasing it. Believe is a verb4. She continued to speak her faith. She continued to release her faith by saying5. She acted on her faith by pressing through the crowd to touch Jesus' garment. Faith was continuously released through action. Faith without works is dead (James 2:26). The work of faith is the work of graceMark 5:29 (NET) At once the bleeding stopped, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease. After releasing her faith, she felt she was healed in her body. The feeling came after releasing faith by believing, by saying and by acting on her faith.Mark 5:30 (NET) Jesus knew at once that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and said, "Who touched my clothes?" Jesus was walking to Jairus' home to lay hands on his daughter. Jesus' garment was saturated with the special anointing in manifestation. When the woman touched Jesus' garment, the power was drawn from His garment into her body. The power was tangible because Jesus knew it had gone out of His body. Notice that Jesus did not lay hands on that woman. The two ingredients for her healing were present:1. The healing power was in manifestation, saturating Jesus' garment2. The woman's faith drew the power from His garment into her bodyMark 5:33-34 (NET)33 Then the woman, with fear and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before him and told him the whole truth. 34 He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your disease."It was not Jesus' faith that healed the woman. It was the woman's faith that drew the power from Jesus' garment to heal her. There was no element of doubt and unbelief with her at any moment. The special anointing was in manifestation on Jesus' body, saturated His garment. Acts 19:11–12 (NKJV)11 Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.Paul's body, too, was anointed with the special anointing. The handkerchiefs or aprons that came into contact with his body were saturated with the healing power of God. These handkerchiefs and aprons were then brought to the sick because they could not come to Paul. Even without him being physically present to pray for them, but only having the handkerchiefs and aprons, which had hands laid on them, the healing power was still transferred.Steps to receive the special anointing from handkerchiefs or aprons:1. Believe there is healing power on the preacher's body2. Believe that the same power can be transferred to handkerchiefs and aprons3. Believe that the healing power will be transmitted into the sick bodies to healThe power was so strong that it did two things: a) healed the sick and b) drove out the demons. There was no need to use the name of Jesus here to cast out demons; the power did the work.Rev. Cheong Yew KwongFaith Church SingaporePlease visit our website at faithchurch.sg#goodtoread ... WAYS TO RECEIVE OUR HEALING (PART 3)THE ANOINTING OF OIL AND THE PRAYER OF FAITHAnother way to minister the healing anointing to the sick is to anoint them with oil and pray the prayer of faith over them.James 5:14–15 (NKJV)14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. This Scripture instructs us to anoint the sick with oil. It does not tell us to have the pastor pray over the oil. To anoint means to pour on or smear on. It does not mean that the oil is anointed. When the sick calls the pastor to pray, he will smear the sick with oil in the Name of Jesus. There is no anointing in the oil. Instead, it is the name of Jesus, which is anointed. Healing power is in the name of Jesus because He is God. The pastor prays the prayer of faith in the Name of Jesus. The prayer of faith heals the sick. The word "save" comes from the Greek word "sozo", which means healing. Healing power is released through the prayer of faith in the Name of Jesus. The Book of James is one of the first two books written after Jesus rose again. Written to the twelve tribes of Israel, they were familiar with both the Law of Moses and the anointing of oil. At that time, they did not have the New Testament to read. Living in the new covenant (New Testament), James instructed them to be smeared with oil in the Name of Jesus because power is in the name. If a pastor anoints someone with oil without the name of Jesus, is there power in the oil? There is no power. What is the purpose of the oil, then? It serves the same purpose as laying hands on the sick. It invokes the law of contact and transmission in the Name of Jesus. It is a point of contact where the pastor and the sick person release their faith, believing healing power is being transmitted and received. The power is in the Name of Jesus because Jesus is God Himself. He is all-powerful. Pray the prayer of faith in the name of Jesus.John 16:23–24 (NKJV)23 "And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. Will the Heavenly Father give Jesus whatever He asks? Yes, of course. Hence, the Heavenly Father will also give us whatever we ask according to His will, in the name of Jesus.Mark 11:24 (NKJV) Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. From these Scriptures, we deduce the steps in the prayer of faith to receive healing from the Heavenly Father:1. Ask what we desire, not someone else's desire or not our desire for someone else2. Believe we receive when we ask. Believe we receive before we see the result3. Give thanks because we receive when we ask4. Then we WILL have itWe cannot wait for the medical report and then have the confidence that we are healed. If we are unsure and want to wait for the results before believing, we do not believe we have already received our healing in the first place. On the contrary, faith believes we receive our healing the moment we are prayed for in the name of Jesus.Rev.
